  • Camden County College Professor Builds Community In, Out of the Classroom

    Linda Berger was one of four professors at Camden County College to receive the 2012 Adjunct Faculty Teaching Excellence Awards last week. Berger, a basic skills mathematics teacher in the Division of Transitional Studies, was recognized for her dedication to students, who she spends hours of her own time tutoring at the Camden City Campus.

    Before Aaron McCargo, Jr. was wowing Food Network audiences with “Fall-off-the-Bone Short Ribs” and “Funked Out Smashed Potatoes,” he was one of Camden’s own, baking cakes in his sister’s Easy-Bake Oven at their home on Washington and West. At 13, he landed a job as a junior volunteer in the Cooper University Hospital kitchen—proving that, well, hospital cuisine may not be quite so bad after all. (more…)
